The book for "FOUNDATIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL CRUSHING MILLS" written by Dr K. G. Bhatia, an eminent Engineer of about 6 decades of extensive experience of Design dynamic/seismic/Failure Analysis etc. is the first book of its kind ever. The book is very comprehensive and easy to understand to evaluate the dynamics of the machines, to perform the Structural Design for a satisfactory operation for a long time. Dr K. G. Bhatia’s advice, to Design Engineers, for a consistent interaction with the machine suppliers and Soil Data exploration agencies besides understanding the functioning of the machines for appropriate transfer of Dynamic forces to the foundations, is a very important aspect.

The mills are very important machines for industries like cement, steel, power and fertilizer plants and for the new plants, conceived and installed all over India to convert Municipal waste to Green coal, a boon for Environmental protection etc., and for Design of Foundations of important machines like Dryers and Reactors whose behaviour is similar to the Mills.

The book is very useful and educative to young Design Engineers, not so young, teachers, students and research fellows to perform Detailed Structural analysis and Design of these important Machine Foundations for all dynamic forces etc., practically not carried out in all Design offices as per my interaction with Design Engineers, in number of Design organisations during my 60 years of professional life associated with Design, Construction, Project Management and Planning etc. for number of industries. All the concepts of Structural Design have been explained with complete clarity with actual design.

The Design, Analysis and transfer of all forces generated by machines to the soil by Piles has been comprehensively dealt in detail and one may not find in any book.

I wish and pray to Almighty God and Maa Saraswati to continue to bless Dr K. G. Bhatia with lot of energy and wisdom to provide his services by writing many such books for important machines to benefit and educate the future Engineering fraternity.
